About us

The Tissue Bank Foundation was established in 2011 as a foundation set up by the Azienda Unità Locale Socio Sanitaria n. 2 Marca Trevigiana with the aim of promoting scientific research and health care activities in the field of procurement and transplantation medicine. Its task is to procure, preserve and distribute homologous tissues, certifying their suitability and safety.

In 2022 the organisation strengthens its role as a Regional Bank and is recognised as the Veneto Tissue Bank Foundation ETS

The institutional tasks are:

• selection, collection, preservation and distribution of cardiac homografts, vascular segments, amniotic
• membrane and osteo-tendon tissue, taken from multi-tissue and living donors
• raising public awareness of the high moral value of tissue donation for implantation purposes
• promoting research and studies in the field of surgery and transplantation/implantation, also in cooperation with University Institutes and with Ulss
• stimulating the emergence of new application possibilities
